All Good Things

Well, folks, after a lot of quiet consideration, I've decided to stop writing this blog. I've been approved to write my own thesis next semester on the evolution of male customers in a Gentlemans' club, and I really need to keep my observations private for the purposes of that paper.

I have really enjoyed writing this, and I hope you all have enjoyed reading it. Thanks to all who gave me links and read my little stories about a titty bar in the south.

Take care, everyone, and I hope you all fulfill whatever your heart desires!

Love,
Waitress

P.S.: I'm in Arkansas

P.P.S: My name is Jennifer :)

Two thoughts immediately come to mind:

1) Sorry to see you go. Your blog has been tremendous fun to read.

2) Seriously? "The Evolution of Male Customers in Gentlemens' Clubs"? So the male customers have "evolved"? Could you give us just a very brief overview of what the thesis might be?

Dear Anon:
An evolution paper in sociology is not an evolution paper (read: darwinism). Think evolution from one particular status to another; in this situation how an individual goes from being a stranger to a strip club to being a regular patron, and how they interact with their environment at each particular stage. Hope that clears it up for you.

Hi Jenn,

I've really enjoyed your writing.

Thanks for your insights - your mixture of deep meaning and hilarity is something I'm going to miss! Your insights from 'the other side' were very interesting too.

(Would be interested in reading the paper if you ever release it - make sure you update the blog when its done!)

Thanks for all your words,
Anthony

I've been quietly reading your blog for quite a while and have enjoyed it a lot. Your sense of humour and descriptive abilities made this blog one of the three or four I looked forward to reading new posts on. That being said I understand why you have to discontinue it.

Best of luck, Jennifer. Thanks for writing.

Aw. We are going to miss you. I suppose it was inevitable, though, since you are too smart to be working in a strip club all your life. Those Master's degrees are tough (my wife has one), but I'm sure with some hard work your thesis will be great.

OK, I can deal with you dumping us. I'll be missing your stories from work, but I can understand that you need to devote a lot of time to finish up you degree and I wish you the best of luck with it.

Now, since nobody else has bothered to say it yet I will...thanks for the name and the location, but feel free to throw up a picture of yourself before you leave us all for good.

Honey, I worked in a strip bar 23 years ago. Dance for 5 years, and there ain't no no way in hell that men have evolved. They're still swinging from the trees. Good luck in all you do. Have very much enjoyed your writing.

Good luck on your thesis! Your topic sounds fascinating! When you get it done, or if you need feedback on parts, please post on the blog! Some who read this have a strong background in this or related subjects as well (I have a master's in psych).

Don't let this die off! Yours has been one of the more interesting, well-written blogs I have come across in a while!

I just had a feeling you were in ar and even the club you are at after reading some of the stories. I must be the only reader here?!? and some of those stories sound like a few people I know and worked with @ a nightclub some years back in LR...and you may even be one of them(but I think the jenn I knew that worked there danced too) one of the blogs you wrote about one of the managers taking someone out and it sounded soooo much like a guy with the initials B.M. and one of the dj's name starts with s? (not to give anyone up that doesn't want to) and I may have even once upon a time many years ago dated the owner of your fine establishment...hahahaha!!!

I do love your blog...and sure gonna miss it!!! I just thought sooo many things sounded too familiar but just assumed it was every titty bar!! lmao!!!

It's been interesting, but good luck with everything. I hope you at least keep this blog up, so that folks can at least read the archives.

Also, it's odd. I came closer to guessing your name (I was thinking something with a J) than guessing your state (I'd guessed Colorado).

Oh, and... if you do keep this blog up, then you probably don't want to be posting a picture of yourself anywhere on here. K

I'm crushed.

Not because you're no longer going to regale us with some of the best service industry writing out there, some of the funniest stories of drunken debauchery, and the best soap opera on the internet.

I was just hoping you lived in Oregon.

Thanks, Jennifer!
